Creative Challenge Perth

AWESOME’s artist-in-residency program Creative Challenge Perth will visit two partner schools in 2022. Creative Challenge Perth is supported by the Crown Resorts and Packer Family Foundations.

AWESOME engages professional artists to work in-residence within each school over 20 days. The program encourages young people to consider their individual and collective identities. It is process-driven, and encourages the participants to undertake research, conceptual and skills development to create an artwork or multiple artworks. The artistic outcomes of the residencies could take shape as a variety of artforms including short films, paintings, sculptures, performances or pieces of music. Selected artworks will be showcased at the 2022 AWESOME Festival in the Perth Cultural Centre in September.

In 2022 AWESOME will deliver residencies to the following schools:

• Bentley Primary School
• North Balga Primary School
